Soccer

 "He shoots, he scores!!!" You may hear this in a game called soccer. 

Soccer is a very fun sport. It is voted the most famous sport in the whole world! The objective of the game is to get the ball into the other teams net and score a goal, but you have to get pass a defender and a goalie. There are four defenders and their job is to not let the other team score a goal to get a point. If the other team gets passed the defenders they have to go against a goalie. The goalie is the only player on the field that can use their hands. They can only use their hands inside a box which is 18 yards deep and 44 yards wide. Their job is to protect the goal.

There is a middle of the pitch, but who plays that? Well that's the midfielders. There are three of them. Their job is to switch the point of attack. So like switch the ball from one side of the field to another. They also shoot some and defend. 

Now there are only three players left. They are the right wing and the left wing. Their job is to either cross the ball into the box for a chance to score or cut into the box to shoot. They also defend. Its a lot of running. 

Then finally there is a striker. The job is to score a goal. They don't really do any defending but they shoot a lot. They often shoot it really hard and at different angles.
